Let’s write a story, together.

Using GitHub, we can collaborate on writing a story together and track all the authors and changes. It’s the open source way!

It all began when I arrived at MozFest…

#

And I saw the fox. He said, to me, “What brings you here?”

#

I will teach about OPEN (I saw it on a video) Open means interoperable and knowable says Mitchell

#

And the fox replied “learn and teach? Pray tell what exactly are you learning and what are you teaching?”

#

“I heard there was a festival. People have fun here right?”

#

So I told the Fox, “I’m here to learn, and here to teach”.

#

Great to try writing posts in git useful for future events and easier than coding

#

“Anything and everything that I can,” I humbly replied

#

“What will you teach?”, asked the Fox.

#

I’ll teach people how to do opensource and this is my first example.

  2. Create a new post to contribute a line to the story.
  3. For this example, use this convention when naming your file: YEAR-MO-DY-TITLE.md.
  4. Type out your story contribution. In this example, you'll may also want to begin your contribution with
    ---
    author: [your GitHub username]
    ---
so we can properly attribute your story. Here's an example to get you started.
  5. Click the Submit button at the bottom.
  6. This sends a pull request, asking the project owner to merge in your changes.
  7. Once you get notification that it's been merged, you can read the story at mozfest.github.io/our-story Congrats! This is the open source way!
